Evan began working at the Steamfitters Local 353 in December of 1994, entered the apprenticeship program the following January and graduated in January of 2000. He then went on to become an instructor at the Local 353 Trade School for 10 years and graduated from the UA Instructor Training Program in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2009.
Evan was appointed to the Examining Board in 2003 and served on the Executive Board from 2006 to 2008. In 2009, Evan was elected Vice President of Steamfitters Local 353 and served in this role until 2012, when he was elected Business Agent. In 2014, Evan was elected to his current position as Business Manager.
Tommy entered the Steamfitters U.A. Local No. 353 Apprenticeship Program in September 1989 and was initiated in March 1990. As a fourth generation Steamfitter, the trade runs in his bloodline and he has worked for over 25 years in various roles. Tommy began serving on the Steamfitters Local 353 Executive Board in 2012 and the Pension Trustee Board in 2013. In 2015, he began serving as the elected Business Agent. Tommy has been married to Amy since 1998. they have 2 shelter dogs, Sonny and Cher. Tommy enjoys classic and muscle cars, watching Notre Dame (Go Irish!) and Pittsburgh Steelers football.
Pat started his apprenticeship in September of 1977 and was initiated in 1978. He soon after started teaching welding to apprentices in 1990 until he became coordinator. He then started attending Washtenaw Community College in 1993 and graduated the first time in 1998. He was involved in Ann Arbor in the very first UA Welding test where they gave the test to 45 welding teachers from around the United States and Canada. Pat then became a training coordinator in 2003, and is still doing that very job today. He graduated for the second time at Ann Arbor in the very first coordinators certification class, and then started teaching in Ann Arbor in 2009 and is also doing that today as well. He is also the president of COTE (group of all the IL UA coordinators), the chairman of the IL State Apprentice Contest, and the co-chairman of the 4th District Apprentice Contest. Pat is married to Jill, and has four boys Sean, Justin, Mark, and Luke.
Anita started working with the Steamfitters Local No. 353 in December, 2013 as the Union Secretary, focusing on member services and apprenticeship program support. A native of Pekin, she graduated from Pekin High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College. Over the years, she has moved around the country from Boston, to Los Angeles, Seattle, Sacramento and Portland; and is now grateful to be back in Pekin, because there’s no place like home! Anita has 2 sons, Peter and Andy (daughter-in -law Bonnie and grandson, Enoch), all living in Portland, OR. For hobbies, she enjoys playing her grand piano, singing with the Bradley University Chorale, knitting and taking walks with her Boston Terrier, Ranger.
Christy joined the Steamfitters Local 353 staff in February, 2016 as Controller upon the retirement of Nancy Lawless, who was the Bookkeeper for 13 years. Christy is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant with extensive accounting experience specializing in contractor and not-for-profit firms. Christy attended Bradley University where she earned both her bachelor and master degrees. Christy and her husband Craig, who was initiated into Local 353 in 2008, live in Manito; along with their Lab (Katie) and Sheltie (Kylee).
